Empower Our Future: Support Our circa €300K Full-Size Astro Pitch Expansion Proposed at St Joseph’s AFC 

The Vision:

• Transform the current Pearse Park astroturf into a full-size pitch to counter the unpredictable weather impacting our boys and girls football activities.
• Secure the longevity of our club as we celebrate our 70th anniversary in the community with this vital expansion.
• Together, we will build a legacy that extends beyond football.

Engaging with the County Council on a phased approach:

• Phase 1 - Current Facility Upgrade: Partnering with Patterson's Contractors appointed by Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council for the initial relaying and modernisation of the existing astro facilities.
• Phase 2 - Full-Size Proposed Expansion: Planning the comprehensive expansion to a full-size pitch ideally available by Summer 2025 at cost of circa €300K.

The Need:

Strategic Imperative: This expansion is crucial not just for improvement but as a foundational element for the club's future and to aid us in delivering on our vision of having the best youth structure in Ireland.

Cost: Investment required for the full-size astro pitch is circa €300K.

Fundraising Initiatives:

• Brand new Online Club Lotto available via our Lottery provider Smart Lotto. This is a fun and engaging online platform which makes playing the lottery easier than ever before!  
• A dedicated club loan scheme.

Partnerships:

• Ongoing discussions and collaboration with Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and other local stakeholders.

Member & Alumni call to Action:

• We urge both new, longstanding members and the St. Joseph’s Alumni to help us reach this goal. Your support is crucial for our Club and Club leaders to continue moulding football talent and providing all boys & girls with an important outlet to have fun, keep fit in a safe, positive and inclusive environment that we can all be proud of. Club History

St Joseph’s AFC is a schoolboy/girl football club based in Sallynoggin on the south side of Dublin. The club was founded as St Joseph's Boys in 1953 by Fr. Frank McCabe and Brendon Harmon to provide youth services through football for children in the greater Dun Laoghaire area. The club’s first match was played in the Phoenix Park in September 1953. St Joseph’s has always been a progressive club and it opened its clubhouse, dressing rooms and showers in 1964. This football facility was further enhanced in 1975.
