Drung Dalcassians GAA is more than a club. We’re a family. A tightly knit community. Our club, our community, our family, survives because of the effort of volunteers and your support. The biggest challenge we face, is funding. Funding helps us pay for insurance, maintenance, our ESB, heating, buses, referees and more.
Little in the hills of Bunnoe, with the rural tranquillity of the Mill Meadow on an ordinary weekday, would suggest to the passer-by the stirring history it secretes or of the special place it has occupied in the hearts of generations of members and players of the much loved Drung Dalcassians. It is often used, and correctly so, in the statement that the 'rural club is the heartland of the GAA', when we reflect as a club on the commitment, loyalty and will to survive.
Our goal is to encourage all members of the community to participate in GAA related activities regardless of their background. To reward commitment and participation at all ages and provide encouragement and involvement to players of all abilities, whilst ensuring a safe and protective environment for children.
Fundraising empowers our team and offers a sense of unity. It gives us that common goal to get behind, a single milestone that we can reach as a group, as a community, as a team. We are dedicated to ensuring that our family of games, and the values we live, enrich the lives of our members, families, and the community we live in.
